The Originalist Party

Home Pic1
The Originalist Party supports originalists in that they read little to no “extra” into what the founding fathers meant when they wrote the Constitution. Of course, the document must live and breathe as things change with time. However, many politicians and jurists take that to mean that they can twist our founding fathers’ words too far to the left or right. There is a fine line between making the Constitution fit your agenda – which may or may not be good – and applying it to current events. And this is why we have case law. In many cases, case law correctly interprets the Constitution. In some cases, case law mangles the founding fathers’ words to benefit one faction of the people who live in the United States.

Thus, we place importance first on what the framers intended initially, but we also look at the wording of the Constitution – textualism.

Candidate Selection

Because we know that some groups are up-and-coming, and you might have questions about whether you should support one over the other, we put together several reasons why we believe you should support The Originalist Party.

Unlike some other groups, we do not choose delegates to select candidates. We select candidates based on their platform and how they interpret the Constitution, Bill of Rights and case law as a whole.

Funding

We rely on funding from those who believe in what is best for America. We do not obtain funding from a select number of billionaires but instead rely on people who donate to the cause because they believe in American values. They believe in capitalism – the ability and freedom to earn as much or as little as they want. When you rely on funding from certain billionaires, you can often be bought. The Originalist Party will not be bought because someone donates a large sum to change our agenda. We hold our candidates to the same high standard.

Unlike some other groups, we do not choose delegates to select candidates. We select candidates based on their platform and how they interpret the Constitution, Bill of Rights and case law as a whole.
